Mission Statement:

The University Library supports Open Access and Open Science and offers a variety of related services for all LMU faculties.

Open Access stands for free and unlimited access to scholarly publications on the internet. The University Library maintains four publications servers (repositories) enabling LMU members to publish their scholarly works electronically.

Scholars of all LMU faculties are invited to store their publications on the servers in accordance with the "Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities".

In addition to offering Open Access publication services, the University Library is a member of ORCID and DataCite. With these memberships, the University Library is able to offer you extensive support with ORCID iDs as well as to register DOIs for LMU faculty members and their projects.

With the ongoing project "eHumanities - interdisziplinär", the University Library is exploring new ways to integrate research data management into existing workflows at the university. Primarily designed as a pilot project for the Humanities, the results and services will be made public so that other faculties can benefit from the project as well.
